I believe that pregnancy and birth involves our whole being - body, mind and soul. It can be a beautiful act of worship and I feel called to help women and birthing people experience that.
I use the Calm Births Course (including all as in the Calm Births option above), but with added adaptations to include Christian based spiritual practices including prayer, scripture based visualisations and ideas for spiritual birth affirmations. Ideally you’ll be 30-32 weeks pregnant when you start the course.*
If you are not a Christian but you like the idea of birthing with a faith and/or adding a spiritual element to your hypnobirthing journey then please do feel free to join in with this course! This costs the same as the standard course.
I am a qualified ordained Priest (Rev.) in the Church of England with an MA in Theology, Ministry and Mission so you can rest assured that what I add spiritually comes from a place of experience, training and accountability.

Private courses aim to fit around you and your schedule as much as possible and can be delivered in your home or in an alternative comfortable setting. I can deliver either the faith-based or non-faith-based options based on your preference.

Hypnobirthing isn’t about being hypnotised or out of control — and definitely not about clucking like a chicken! It’s about learning how to relax deeply, trust your body and feel calm and confident as you prepare to meet your baby.
Using simple but powerful breathing techniques, guided relaxation, visualisation and an understanding of how birth works, hypnobirthing helps you work with your body rather than against it.
When you feel safe and supported, your body can do what it’s naturally made to do.
It’s recommended by many midwives and health professionals because reducing fear and tension can have a real impact on how labour unfolds.
Hypnobirthing gives you practical tools to stay grounded, informed and in control — whatever direction your birth takes.
Whether you’re planning a home birth, hospital birth, induction or caesarean, hypnobirthing isn’t about chasing a “perfect” birth. It’s about feeling prepared, empowered, at peace and able to approach your baby’s birth with confidence.

Yes — many studies suggest that hypnobirthing and related deep‑relaxation techniques can help people feel calmer, less fearful and more confident about labour.
When fear drops and relaxation increases, the body’s natural hormones (like oxytocin) can work more effectively, just like we see when animals instinctively seek a quiet, safe space to give birth.
Research has found that people who use these techniques often report:
Less fear and anxiety before and during labour
Better emotional experiences and satisfaction with their birth
Greater sense of control and ability to cope
(even when labour doesn’t go exactly to plan)
There’s also evidence from some clinical trials that hypnobirthing training can be associated with:
Lower pain scores reported during labour
Reduced fear of childbirth
Higher satisfaction with birth experience

Hypnobirthing with Faith includes all the core hypnobirthing tools — breathing, deep relaxation and understanding how birth works — while also gently inviting faith into the process.
It’s about recognising that God is present in the birthing room and that we can draw on His peace in moments that feel intense or uncertain. Birth doesn’t sit outside of our spiritual lives — we don’t have to leave our faith at the door.
You don’t need to be a “perfect” Christian, have lots of Bible knowledge, or even a strong church background. This is open to anyone who would like to include God in their birth preparation.
Through simple scripture-based affirmations, prayer and reflection alongside practical birth education, you prepare not just physically and emotionally, but spiritually too — knowing you are supported and not alone.
-
Hypnobirthing is suitable for any parent-to-be, whether it’s your first baby or not, whether your pregnancy is low-risk or higher-risk, and whether you have a faith background or none at all. Partners and support people are also welcome — it’s about preparing as a team and feeling confident together.
-
Birth partners play a vital role in hypnobirthing. The course gives them practical tools to support you during labour — from reminding you of breathing and relaxation techniques, reading guided visualisations, to helping keep you calm and focused.
It also shows them how to communicate effectively with midwives and medical staff, so decisions are shared and you feel in control. Many partners say it’s empowering to have a clear role, knowing exactly how to help and be part of the team.
Rather than feeling on the side-lines, they can actively support, encourage, and advocate for you and baby throughout the birth.
-
Yes — hypnobirthing techniques can work wherever you give birth. The tools help you stay calm and focused at home, in a hospital or in a birth centre (as well as on the way there!). It can still aid you even during inductions, C-sections, or other interventions.
t’s about giving you control, confidence and peace with your decisions no matter the circumstances.
